For this assignment, you will review a variety of sources (at least four total) related to a specific
athletic injury. You may use journal review articles and general reference websites (Mayo Clinic,
WebMD, etc.) to gather background information, but at least one source must be an original
research study from a peer-reviewed academic journal. The injury may involve trauma to any
tissue related to movement (bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, etc.) and can be limited to a
specific population if you so choose (i.e., high school athletes, children, older adults, etc.). The
project should provide a synthesis of the information related to the injury along with directions
for future research. Essentially, the presentation should explain what is currently known about
the injury and identify questions that still need to be answered. The presentation should be in the
neighborhood of 5-7 minutes and must be delivered as a voiceover PowerPoint file (or a similar
presentation modality).
