Describe some of the challenges that LGBTQI youth face in child welfare (e.g adoption, foster care placement, coming out, reunification with family, etc). How can we improve? How likely or least likely are LGBTQI youth to be adopted? What are the suicide rates among LGBTQI youth? As a future social worker, discuss how cultural competency relates to working with LGBTQI youth.
