As you know recently, Great Britain voted in support of a “Brexit” from the European Union, and they filed the official “divorce papers” of dissolution from the EU. Brexit is viewed in response, to among other things, resistance to a global or centralized “supranational” governing body to determine what rules and regulations should be enforced in the various local and national economies.
This same thought process is said to be true for the recent election of Donald Trump as US president. What are your thoughts? Is there growing resistance to a “world body” that governs macroeconomic policies? Is this just a temporary hiccup toward globalization of trade and free markets?
