The aim of this research is to; 1) investigate the reasons why women do not always adhere to the exercise components within Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) programmes and 2) identify the social, medical-physio, economic and nutrition barriers that prevent women from continuing CR exercise regimes. To answer these questions a systematic review of literature will be conducted to identify methods to improve uptake and adherence to cardiac rehabilitation. Further this project will seek to estimate the financial cost implications of increasing uptake of cardiac rehabilitation programmes within the female population. APA writing style.
