An Argument is nothing more than an opinion + reason. But to excel at argument, you should know about and apply the 12 points of argument in your paper, a heuristic which will allow you to develop many angles of your reasons as well as see how an argument ‘moves’ toward the ultimate goal of argument making (deciding on whether to act in response to the argument). This is the same structure you used for your research paper.
You must incorporate into your style and label at least one example of each:
1. parallel structure (doublets and triplets),
2. rolling parallel structure
3. correct use of passive voice,
4. conciseness,
5. appositives,
6. anadiplosis,
7. antithesis.
8. Exotic sentences (choose one from lecture)
9. Participial phrase
10. Parallel subordinate clauses
11. Use of metaphor
