Philosophy Project Assignment | Essay Help Services

“Read the article “It’s Time for Malawi to Quit Tobacco.” (You’ll need to read it more than once. Consult it as you go.) Work through the decision-making model using the worksheet included in the project document linked below. (If the worksheet doesn’t help you capture ideas in the way you think it should, change it so it does. If you need more room, add it. The point is to work with a process, but the process has to work for you, too.) Then prepare an analytical report for your organization to use as part of the moral reasoning behind a recommendation in the report. You are not writing the report itself, but you are going to recommend a morally defensible course of action and give reasons for why that course of action is better than at least one other alternative to the way things are described in the article.” Above if for the document “It’s Time for Malawi to Quit Tobacco”.

General Information

  1. Due Date: August 5th, 2019 before 11:55 PM
  2. Late Penalty: A late penalty of 10% per day will apply to documents uploaded after 11:54 PM on August 5th. So even if you upload your document at 11:55 PM on August 5th, you will receive a 10% late penalty. General Instructions:

  1. Read the Specific Instructions below.
  2. Read the Setup & Question below.
  3. RENAME this file by replacing ‘StudentID’ with your actual Student ID number. Keep everything else the same.
  4. Do not put your name anywhere in this document. This helps remove a source of unintentional implicit bias that may arise when grading.
  5. Put your student number in the space provided at the top of this instruction sheet.
  6. Keep this instruction sheet in your document. Do not delete it. This tells your marker that you have at least had access to the instructions.
  7. Submit the worksheet and report in .pdf, .doc, or .docx format. No other file format will be accepted and will receive a grade of zero. Apple Pages, OpenOffice, and LibreOffice can all export to PDF or Microsoft Word format, and each of you has access to Microsoft Office 365. If you want to write your report in LaTeX, include this instruction text as part of the submission (don’t worry about reproducing the formatting), do your best to capture the worksheet, and submit the PDF file.
  8. REREAD #7 above.

Specific Instructions:

  1. Use the decision-making model and worksheet provided in this document.
  2. Work through the decision-making model and worksheet step by step. You may converse with your classmates on this part of the project, but identify them on the worksheet. Use the worksheet as documentation of your ideas—it’s a way of showing your work and the thinking that went into writing the report. You can use point form, abbreviations, interjections, and marks on the worksheet. The worksheet will not be graded for spelling or grammar.
  3. Write your report using complete, grammatically correct sentences in paragraph form. Unless noted, point form is not acceptable. See the Setup & Question below for how to structure the report.
  4. Your report may not exceed 1000 words in total. (The word count only applies to words you write (or quote), and it does not include the worksheet.) A penalty of 5 marks will be deducted for exceeding 1000 words.
  5. Title your report and include a word count below the title. A penalty of 5 marks will be deducted if you do not include the word count.
  6. CITE YOUR SOURCES. Even if the only thing you cite in the report is the textbook or lecture slides, you must CITE YOUR SOURCES. See the citation guide in LEARN for details on how to CITE YOUR SOURCES. Failure to CITE YOUR SOURCES will result in an Academic Integrity investigation, which may lead to a charge of plagiarism.

Setup & Question:

For the purposes of this project, assume that you are a coop student working for a non-governmental organization preparing a report for the government of Malawi on the future role of tobacco in its agriculture industry. Your organization is not a stakeholder in the tobacco, agriculture, education, or public health industries; it is not tied to any political party; and it does not stand to benefit from any decision the government of Malawi may make.
