Housekeeping seems straightforward enough, but in fact can make the difference between a happy guest who returns and one that not only never returns, but posts negative comments on social media. If guests find their room, linens, and towels are unclean; their room unorganized; or the expected amenities missing or incomplete, they are going to be unhappy and may not return. Food and beverage is also key, especially hotel restaurants and banquet fare. If the hotel has few food and beverage options in the vicinity surrounding the property, the hotel food and beverage take on even greater importance for the guests.
In public buildings and lodging properties, OSHA compliance is a concern. Each department head needs to be trained sufficiently so that they are informed and prepared to comply with OSHA regulations.
